Jane E. Graveline, 72, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG, NY — Funeral services for Jane E. Graveline, 72, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, July 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Jane passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Burlington, VT, after a brief battle with ALS disease.

Mrs. Graveline is survived by her husband, Eben Graveline, of Ogdensburg; two daughters, Casey Garvey and her husband, Robert, and Kelly Graveline and her husband, Michael Sohal, both of Springfield, VA; two grandchildren, Camden and Flynn Garvey, of Springfield, VA; one sister, Brenda Casey LaRose and her husband, Wayne, of Ogdensburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Born June 3, 1946, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of William and Dora Fortin Casey, she graduated in 1964 from Ogdensburg Free Academy.

Jane married Eben Graveline on Sept. 4, 1971, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg.

She started her career as a secretary at Smith Corona in Syracuse, NY, then as an assistant working for the optometrist office of Dr. George Bailey in Ogdensburg, later becoming the office of Dr. David Lenes, where she worked for over 25 years. Afterwards, she worked as a secretary for the Gebo & Goolden Law Firm, later leaving to work for the law office of Gary Alford, where she retired from in 2008.

Jane enjoyed cooking, watching local sports teams, reading for her book club, visiting her daughters in the DC area, and spending her summers at her camp on the St. Lawrence River.
