Agnes J. Haver, 94, formerly of Champion

CHAMPION — Agnes Jeannette Haver, 94, formerly of Champion, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at University Hospital in Syracuse.

Born Nov. 19, 1923, in Watertown, the daughter of the late Francis and Pauline (Kepler) Leddy, she was a 1941 graduate of Copenhagen High School and a 1944 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing.

She married James W. Haver on April 27, 1946, in Black River. The couple lived on Pine Camp then moved to Champion in 1953.

Jeannette worked at the former Carthage Hospital and for many years, she was employed at the former Greenbriar Nursing Home in Carthage, retiring in 1985.  Mr. Haver died Sept. 23, 1993.

She was a former communicant of St. James Church and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Champion Vol. Fire Dept.

She is survived by two daughters: Joan Postorino of Glen Park and Janine Haver and her partner, Randy Harper of West Carthage, three sons and their wives: Robert and Connie Haver of Depauville, Thomas and Tammy Haver of Muskegon, MI and Richard and Mary Haver of Mason, OH; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Helen) Leddy of Philadelphia; and nieces and nephews.

A son-in-law, Frank Postorino, died in 2004.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Champion. Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 at funeral home.
