Agnes M. Frederick Tusler, 98, Redwood

REDWOOD, NY — Agnes M. Frederick Tusler, 98, formerly of Redwood, died Wednesday evening January 3, 2018 at Riverledge Health Care, Ogdensburg where she had resided since 2008.

Born August 7, 1919 in South Hammond, she was the daughter of Ray and Ethel Chase Frederick.  She graduated from Hammond High School in 1937.

She married Glen Clifford Tusler of Alexandria Bay in 1938.  The couple made a home in Alexandria Bay and moved to South Hammond in the 1950’s.  The marriage ended in divorce.  Mr. Tusler died June 16, 1978.

Mrs. Tusler and her companion, Walt Perry,, Sr. moved to Stine Road, Redwood, NY in 1960 where they resided for nearly forty years.  She lived there until she entered Riverledge Health Care in 2008.

She was a chambermaid at Rock Ledge Motel and later Otter Creek Inn, both in Alexandria Bay until 2000.

Mrs. Tusler enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Bruce and Charmaine of Massena; a son-in-law, Edward Hollister of Hammond; a cousin and his wife, Robert and Barb Frederick of Watertown; five grandchildren, Larry and Jodie Hollister of Hammond, Gary Hollister of Morristown, Margo and Robert Gestner of Arkport, NY, Carrye Anne and Travis Lanning of Massena and Michelle and Jeff Sochia of Norfok; several great and great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, a daughter, Rita Hollister (October 2017) and her companion, Walt Perry, Sr. died before her.

Services and burial at Barnes Settlement Cemetery will be in the spring.
