Blankenbush: Governor’s left-wing agenda doesn’t fit my district

ALBANY, NY — “In my district, we need real change. What we’re hearing from the governor is more of the same- new spending, new handouts and new progressive programs that might work for New York City but don’t work for middle-class people here, ” Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) said.

“In the four counties I represent, I’ve discussed legalizing marijuana with prosecutors, law enforcement officials and drug treatment professionals. None of them believe it’s right for our community. In the four counties I represent, too many people are swimming in student loan debt. The governor wants to hand out free college to illegals. In the four counties I represent, people will think that capping property taxes is a good start. What people really need is a property tax cut.

“We need fundamental economic change in the North Country and Mohawk Valley. This governor is reading from the same old play book,” said Blankenbush.
