PHILADELPHIA, NY — Brian D. Simmons, 50, of Main Street, Philadelphia, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY.
Born Dec. 11, 1967, in Watertown, NY, a son of Charles and Kathryn Clark Simmons, he attended Theresa Elementary School and Indian River Central School.
Brian married Vivian N. Johnson on March 15, 1997, at his parents’ home in Theresa by Town Justice Frederick Whispell.
He worked for the Town of Philadelphia for 10 years, in the maintenance department for United Realty, Watertown, NY, the Theresa Market and he was a mechanic for Ken Brown & Sons, Theresa, NY.
Brian was very mechanical and enjoyed working with his hands.
He was a member of the Theresa Fire Department and Theresa Ambulance.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; five sons, Brandon Simmons, 21, Isaac Simmons, 19, Nathan Simmons, 18, Aaron Simmons, 15, and Casey Simmons, 13; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Barbara and Tony Hartle, Theresa, NY, Karen Smith and her companion, Wayne Davis, Philadelphia, NY, Betty and James Brodt, Carthage, NY; two aunts and an uncle, Lillian Martin, Antwerp, NY, Marion and Frederick Whispell, Theresa, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be noon Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at the Theresa Fire Dept., 400 Mill Street, Theresa.
