Bruce S. Ginn, 77, Sackets Harbor

SACKETS HARBOR, NY — Bruce S. Ginn, 77, of 104 Ambrose St., Sackets Harbor, passed away September 20, 2018 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept., 25, at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, 117 N. Massey St., Watertown.

Burial with military honors will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Sackets Harbor.

Calling hours will be Noon to 2 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Born April 17, 1941, in Watertown, a son of Delbert and Alice (Baines) Ginn, he graduated from Sackets Harbor High School in 1958.  Following high school he entered the US Navy on August 27, 1958 and was honorably discharged on April 13, 1962.

While serving in the military he married his high school sweetheart, Catherine  Shattuck, on July 9, 1961, at the Sulphur Springs Methodist Church.

The couple moved to Rochester where he worked at Zerox for four years before returning to Sackets Harbor and working for Fuel & Supply and Augsbury Oil Co. Mr. Ginn was injured and during that time returned to Jefferson Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Accounting. He then went to Fort Drum as a civilian employee working as a purchasing agent up until he retired in 2001.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and traveling with family.

Among his survivors are his beloved wife of 57 years, Catherine S. Ginn, a daughter and son in law, Tammy E. and Scott A. Lobdell, Sackets Harbor, a son and his companion, Kirk D. Ginn and Pam Moore, Adams Center, three grandchildren, Troy Clarke, Trevar and Ryan Lobdell, a brother and sister in law, Leeland and Jody Ginn, TX, several nieces and nephews.
