Calcium man resisted arrest, police say

WATERTOWN, NYAureo E. Nieves-Torres, 20, of 26172 Jewett Place, Calcium, was charged by Watertown police at 11:23 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, in the 200 block of Sterling Street with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

He is accused of approaching a police officer with his fists raised in an aggressive manner, actively fought with officers and refused to put his arms behind his back by laying on them at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, according to court documents.

He was being held on $500 police bail pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.
