Carole A. Johnson, 74, Dexter

DEXTER,  NY — Carole A. Johnson, 74, Dexter, wife of Walter “Mike” Johnson, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Funeral services will be private for the family on Monday, Nov. 26, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Born Feb. 24, 1944, in Watertown, she was educated in the Watertown School District. Carole was a hairdresser for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Mike, Dexter; three daughters Linda (Michael) O’Connor, Carthage, Susan (Robert) Joanette, Dexter, and Jennifer (Todd) O’Donnell, Chaumont; a son, Jared Johnson, Dexter; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Foote, Adams; several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Linda Jean Foote, and her step-father and mother, David and Dorothy Dawson (Foote) Parry, all died before her.

She was active in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brownville and Trinity Episcopal Church in Watertown.

Carole enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, at the Dawson family cottage on Lake Ontario.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of her mother or to Trinity Episcopal Church, Watertown, NY.
