Cecil E. Mellen, 60, Three Mile Bay

THREE MILE BAY, NY — Cecil E. Mellen, 60, passed away at his home in Three Mile Bay, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

Born in Watertown, to Mervin and Marjorie Mellen, he lived his entire life in Three Mile Bay, graduating from Lyme Central School in 1977.

Cecil started working for P&C grocery store in Watertown, while still in high school, before owning and operating Porky’s Grocery & Diner, Little Hooker Bait Shop and Silver Streak Water & Construction alongside his parents for over 20 years.  Cecil also worked as a private hauler for Frink Snow Plows.

Previously married in 1988 to Linda Comuntzis, Cecil is survived by their two daughters, Aubrey (Joseph) Cook (Three Mile Bay) and Katie Mellen (Chaumont) and a Granddaughter Elliana Cook.

Cecil is pre-deceased by his loving parents Marjorie and Mervin Mellen, grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cecil enjoyed his camp on Chaumont Bay, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, stock car racing, his beloved Samoyed huskies Nakita and Blue, snowmobiling, and camping in Cranberry Lake, going to concerts and listening and singing along to music. Cecil was happiest spending time with his family & friends.

Cecil appreciated the little things in life, he was sentimental and a keeper of family memories. Cecil had a big heart.

A celebration of life will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Bistro 108, 108 Court St., Watertown.
