Chefs sought for 20th annual North Country Chili Cook-Off

WATERTOWN, NY — The Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. (VTC) will benefit from the 20th Annual North Country Chili Cook-Off scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Dulles State Office Building, Watertown.

The event is sponsored by the Jefferson County American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Family. This family-friendly event begins at 11 a.m. and judging concludes at 2 p.m. Awards are presented at 3 p.m.

Each year, 35 amateur and professional chefs bring their best chili recipes to the table. Recipes are wide and varied — hot, mild, chocolate, fruity and even a candy-flavored chili have been entered. Each entry is judged by a panel of local judges and the winner takes home top bragging rights along with cash prizes. There is also a People’s Choice prize.

Anyone wishing to enter must complete an entry packet and pay a $50 registration fee. This can be done online at www.VolunteerTransportationCenter.org or by calling (315) 788-0422 x2918. Additional paperwork will be provided once the initial interest form is received.
