Collin J. Hess, 23, Copenhagen

COPENHAGEN, NY — Collin J. Hess, 23, Copenhagen, died Sunday morning on August 26th from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Steuben, Oneida County.

The funeral Mass will be said 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Holy Family Church, Winthrop St., Watertown. Calling hours will be noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Graveside services, with honors conveyed by the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, will be held IN Brookside Cemetery following the Mass.

Born Sept. 29, 1994, in Watertown, a son of Timothy Hess and Allison Grant LaBarge, he graduated from Copenhagen Central School in 2012. Following graduation he attended Jefferson Community College and went to work for Fuccillo’s in Adams. In 2017 Collin graduated from the NYSDOCCS and was currently working at the Marcy Correctional Facility.

He is survived by his parents, Timothy (Valerie Zehr) Hess, Mannsville; Allison (Peter Sullivan) LaBarge, Copenhagen; a brother, Cody LaBarge, 2 sisters, Emilie and Lexie Hess. Also surviving in his extended family is Derek Sullivan, Lukas Sullivan, Landon Sullivan, Michael LaBarge, Amie Pelton, maternal grandparents, Joseph and Christine Grant, Stephen Yaussi, Jerry and Penny LaBarge, paternal grandparents, David and Ginny Hess, Audrey and Alfred “Bud” Towles and the love of his life Alyssa Laribee.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Dona-Rae Yaussi, and his uncle, Brian Yaussi.

Collin loved the great outdoors, golfing, baseball, the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family and friends. Most importantly he loved the time he spent with  Alyssa.
