Edith M. Jackson, 80, formerly of Port Leyden

LOWVILLE, NY – Edith M. Jackson, 80, formerly of Port Leyden, died Friday night, June 29, 2018, at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility under the care of her family and Lewis County Hospice, Inc., where she was resided since April 2017.

Edith was born on February 3, 1938 in Henderson the daughter of the late Alvey and Mildred Babcock Knight. She is the wife of the late Eugene F. “Gene” Jackson whom she married in 1989. Mrs. Jackson was a licensed practical nurse in the Oswego area for many years, retiring from Pontiac Nursing Home.

Edith was a caring person, well known lady and everyone loved her.

She is survived by her five children, her son, Michael Pierce of Rome; her four daughters, Mary Jane Pierce of NC, and her children and 27 grandchildren; Linda Gage (Lance Reed) of Carthage; and their children, Jesse Reed and Andi Reed; twin daughter, Holly (Dale) Darling of Port Leyden, their children, Johnathon (Nicole) Sturtevant; their daughter, Tessa Sturtevant, Rebecca Sturtevant (Richard Young), their children, Leon and Dakota Young; twin daughter, Heidi Gage of Hannibal; her children, Russel (Jamie) Crutchley; Ashley (Ryan) Semione, their children, Solas and Arlo Semione; and her brother Carl Knight of Oswego.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Leon Sturtevant, and brother, Raymond Knight.
