Edward H. Yager, 74, Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y.  (April 16, 2015) —  Edward Henry Yager, 74, of 2503 Mt. Read Blvd., passed away peacefully at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, surrounded by his family and friends at the Leo Center for Care at St. Ann’s Community, Rochester.

Born May 8, 1940, in Watertown, NY, a son of E. Leo and Ruth Cullen Yager, he graduated in 1958 from Watertown High School.

Mr. Yager worked at Kodak and was the owner of numerous businesses including California Brew Haus, My Apartment, George Cullen’s, Macy’s Cafe & Pub, all of Rochester, and California Brewery, Watertown.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist, Greece.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Linda Gundy Yager; step sons, Frank Dattalo and Bill (Lindsey) Dattalo; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathryn Y. and John Callahan, Mass., and Mary E. Fults, Watertown; four children, Mary, Mark, Michael and Steven; 11 grandchildren; loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and many loyal friends. There was a special place in his heart for Bill and Anita Ellithorpe.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, David J., and a nephew, Christopher Fults.

Mr. Yager proudly served his country as a Marine. Semper Fi.

He was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Notre Dame football and University of Washington Huskies.

Mr. Yager was also a world traveler throughout his life.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave., Rochester. Inurnment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave., Rochester. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday afternoon, April 18, at Rehab Lounge, 510 Monroe Ave., Rochester.
