Fred Pennock, 83, Sackets Harbor

SACKETS HARBOR, NY — Fred Pennock, 83, passed away April 6, 2018, in Orange City, Florida at the Halifax Health Hospice Facility.

Fred was born January 29, 1935, in Sackets Harbor, the son of Kenneth and Irene Fields Pennock. Following High School at Hounsfield Central Fred entered the Army and served three years. Then Fred began his service as a police officer for the City of Watertown where he served for 27 years before retiring.  He also worked as a NYS Park Police at the Westcott Beach and Southwick Beach state parks.

Fred was a better than average golfer and looked forward to spending summers at the cottage he built on Silver Shores, Sackets Harbor.

Fred and his wife Bobbie Retalic Pennock lived in Debary, Florida during the winters.

Fred was a wonderful carpenter and enjoyed cabinetry. He loved to travel and explore different states. He was a member of the American Legion in Sanford, Florida, First Presbyterian Church in Debary, Florida and previously the United Presbyterian Church of Sackets Harbor.

He is survived by his wife Bobbie, three sons; Donald, Bruce and Randy and grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother Charles Pennock of Watertown; nephews and a niece.

A graveside burial will be held 2 p.m. July 9 in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor, with Rev. Adele Spencer officiating. A reception will follow at the American Legion in Sackets Harbor.
