James S. “Joe” Littlefield, 79, Clayton

CLAYTON, NY — James S. “Joe” Littlefield, 79, Clayton, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 26, after a brief illness at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

At his request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial in Depauville Cemetery will be at his family’s convenience.

Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Born June 26, 1939, in the town of Clayton, a son of Harold G. and Anna McDougall Littlefield, he was educated in Clayton schools.

For many years he assisted running the family farm on County Route 5. Joe later worked for the Dept. of Environmental Conservation in the maintenance department for ten years.

He enjoyed car racing and NASCAR, gardening and landscaping, and farm work.

Joe is survived by his five siblings, Harold W. “Bill” Littlefield, Great Falls, MT, Charles E. Littlefield and wife, Joyce, Tampa, FL, Joyce A. Papin and husband, Peter G., Redwood, Ronald Littlefield and wife, Kathie L., Clayton, and Terry K. Littlefield and wife, Jacqueline, Clayton and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by four siblings, Jerry E. Littlefield, Dan G. “Tuffy” Littlefield, Joanne Bazinet, and Randy Littlefield.
