Janine M. Juiliani, 87, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Janine M. Juiliani, 87, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident for approximately two years.

Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. A graveside committal will be held at the convenience of her family in Brookside Cemetery.

Born April 23, 1931, in Windsor, Ontario, a daughter to Wallace and Evelyn M.Durocher Peters, she received her high school diploma from Watertown’s I.H.A., and would later graduate from a cosmetology school.

Janine worked as a hairdresser for Glamour and Judy’s Hair Salon, both of Watertown, for over 30 years. She was also a waitress and cook at Canale’s Restaurant for 15 years.

Janine enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, baking Italian Christmas cookies, playing cards (mainly poker), and trips to the casino.

A marriage to Peter Juiliani ended in divorce.

She is survived by her daughter: Lauri Gemayel and companion David Harrigan, Watertown; a granddaughter, Jessica Gemayel and companion Stephen DeLosh; a great-grandson, Alexander DeLosh; a brother, James Peters and companion Florence Ford of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Janine is predeceased by a brother and two sister in-laws: Robert and Dorothy Peters, Carmela Peters.

Janine’s family wishes to acknowledge the 7th floor nurses and aides of Samaritan Keep Nursing Home for their exemplary care and compassion towards Janine during her stay.
