ADAMS CENTER, NY — Joy Stella Rivett, 68, Adams Center, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, where she had been a patient since Oct. 7.
Born Nov. 13, 1949, a daughter to Herbert W. and Blanche A. LaVere Rivett in Watertown, she attended school at Belleville Union Academy.
Joy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Tobe Elmer, Woodville; three nephews, Jeffrey (Sue Graye) Rivett, Adams; Timothy (Sandra) Elmer, Woodville; Terry (Janette) Elmer, Oswego; a niece Traci Lapp, Lacona; her aunt, Doris Fillhart; and several cousins.
Besides her parents Joy was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Rivett and two brothers, Claude and Wesley Rivett.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Bellville. A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Woodside Cemetery.
