Lucile B. Nadelen, 92, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Lucile B. Nadelen, 92, Watertown, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Samaritan Summit Village.

Calling hours will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. A prayer service will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home and the funeral mass will be celebrated at noon at Holy Family Church with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor, presiding. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum.

Lucile was born in Clayton on April 18, 1926, daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Charlebois Donohue. The family moved to Watertown and she attended Watertown schools.

On Sept. 1, 1945, she married Ross F. “Tater” Nadelen at St. Patrick’s Church, and he passed March 10, 2007.

She was a homemaker for her family.

She was a communicant of Holy Family Church, where she was an active volunteer and was a volunteer for Catholic Charities, transferring babies in the north country. Lucile also volunteered for the North Country Children’s Clinic, Board of Elections, and was a Girl Scout Leader for sixteen years.

She enjoyed bowling, was a Board member of the 600 Club, and secretary for three bowling leagues. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, snow shoeing, camping, dancing, sewing, crocheting, and doing Russian embroidery.

With her husband, Lucile enjoyed their camp near Chase’s Lake and their fifth-wheel and motor home.

She is survived by her son, Gary F. Nadelen, Watertown; daughter, Margaret M. Moromisato, CA; daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Nadelen, Hastings; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her husband, Tater, Lucile was predeceased by her two sons, W. Martin Nadelen, May 5, 1950 and Paul R. Nadelen, Dec. 22, 2013, and a brother, Paul F. Donohue, Oct. 10, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, her family would like contributions in her name to the Heritage Fund at Holy Family Church, 129 Winthrop St., Watertown, NY 13601.
