M. Lillian Mason, 99, Cape Vincent

CAPE VINCENT, NY — M. Lillian Mason, 99, of Cape Vincent, passed away peacefully in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday March 16, 2019, at Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home Inc. Cape Vincent.

She was born Jan. 27, 1920, on Wolfe Island, the daughter of Robert and Catherine Yott. She moved to Cape Vincent in 1923.

She attended local schools and worked at various restaurants in and around Cape Vincent.

She married Alton W. Mason on May 17, 1941. They lived in the village until moving to their farm on Stony Point Road-where they worked and lived for twenty-seven years. after selling their farm they moved back to the village in 1977.

She was a member of St. Vincent of Paul Catholic Church and also a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over sixty years.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband Alton, her parents, five sisters: Agnes Hulton, Wolfe Island Canada, Eileen Docteur, Chaumont, Gladys Docteur, Cape Vincent, Katherine White, Cape Vincent, Francis Champagne, Bellvill Canada, Edith Knapp, Cape Vincent. Four brothers: Howard Yott, Chaumont, Victor Yott, Three Mile Bay, Bernard Yott, Michigan, Robert Yott, Cape Vincent.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday March 22, 2019, at Cleveland Funeral Home Inc. Cape Vincent, NY. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St. Vincent of Paul Church in Cape Vincent, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Cape Vincent Ambulance Fund.
