Man facing charges after leaving burnout marks on streets in Evans Mills, police say

EVANS MILLS, NY —  Zachery I. Stone, 20, of Childs Road, Philadelphia, NY, was stopped by Black River / Evans Mills police at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, July 8, for an usafe start violation on Noble Street in Evans Mills.

Police said they observed Stone doing a “power brake” in the middle of Noble Street causing 75-feet of burnout marks on the roadway from Noble Street through the intersection onto LeRay Street.

“Investigation after the stop showed the inspection was out of date on May 31, 2018,” police wrote. “Stone was also suspended in New York State, having one failure to pay fine from Antwerp Town Court.”

Stone was issued tickets for unsafe start, uninspected motor vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation. He is summoned to appear July 30 in LeRay Town Court.

The truck was released to a licensed driver.
