Margaret E. Garvey, 68, DeKalb Junction

DEKALB JUNCTION, NY — Margaret E. Garvey, 68, of US Highway 11, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, NY.

Born Aug. 23, 1949, in Ogdensburg, NY, she was a daughter of Harold and Alice Simser Beebe.  She graduated from Hermon-DeKalb Central School in 1970 and then Mater Dei College with an associate’s degree in secretarial science.

Margaret married Donald L. Garvey in DeKalb Junction, NY in the late 1990s.  He died April 20, 2012.

She was manager of Raynor’s Country Store, DeKalb Junction, NY, for a time and was bartender at the Skunk’s Nest, Hermon, NY for more than 30 years.

Margaret enjoyed shuffleboard, NASCAR, Buffalo Bills and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Mosher, DeKalb Junction, NY; four grandchildren, Desiree Wilmarth, Gouverneur, NY, Vaughn Kerr, Gouverneur, NY, Roxanne Cunningham, Watertown, NY and Donald Cunningham, DeKalb Junction, NY; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Kay Healey, Utah; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William Beebe, Philadelphia, NY and John and Kim Beebe, Hammond, NY; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony Kerr, Marissa Kerr, Alexis Kerr, Marky Weinder, Jr., Benjamin Cunningham, Marri Merrihew, Jakob Merrihew and Kingston Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, her husband and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Elizabeth Cunningham died previously.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Skunk’s Nest, 92 Main Street, Hermon, NY  13652.
