Margaret T. Stanford Nelson, 81, Glenfield

GLENFIELD, NY – Margaret T. Stanford Nelson, 81, passed away Thursday morning, March 14, 2019, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, Lowville, where she has resided since May 9, 2018.

The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Pastor Paul Mast officiating. A meal at the New Bremen Fire Dept. will immediately follow the funeral service. Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.  Spring burial will be in the Beaches Bridge Cemetery.

Margaret was married to Lewis E. Stanford Jr. on Dec 25, 1954. The marriage ended in divorce.  Margaret and Lewis had nine children: Daniel and companion Dawn of Lowville, Lewis of Glenfield, Joseph and wife Shannon of Brownville, Peter and Delite of Glenfield, Bonnie of Lowville, Judith and Mark Ball of Harrisville, Timothy and Kathleen of Glenfield, Kathrynn (Deceased), Patricia and Brian Moser of Castorland.

Margaret married Phillip (Butch) Nelson on Dec. 5, 1995, and had six step children: Phillip Nelson Jr. of Sun City, Florida, Richard and Robin Nelson of Oriskany Falls, NY, Wayne Nelson (deceased), Michael and Donna Nelson of Remsen, NY, Pamela Nelson of Rome, NY, Paul and Tammy Knowles of Rome, NY.

Born to Herbert S. and Shirley Watts on Jan. 12, 1938, in Watertown.

Margaret loved her family beyond measure. Her 9 children, 31 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren and 4 more on the way.

Margaret enjoyed bird watching, fishing, and spending time with her dog Daisy. She enjoyed going to her sons and daughter in laws home and watching their chickens and the wildlife in the wooded area where they lived, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by a daughter, Kathrynn Stanford. Her husband Phillip (Butch) Nelson; her parents Herbert S. and Shirley Watts; two brothers, Everett and Guy Watts; a sister, Ola (Pat) Bishop; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Rene Seeloff; and a stepson, Wayne Nelson.

Margaret also has nine siblings, Everett (deceased), Ola (Pat) (deceased), Florence (Cookie), twin brothers, Herbert and Henry, Louise, Daryl, Guy (deceased), and Lucy.
