Marion L. Huddleston, 104, Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, NY — Marion Louise Huddleston, 104, of Philadelphia Court Apartments, passed away, Saturday evening, March 2, 2019 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY.

Born Sept. 18, 1914, in Domville, Greenville County, Province of Ontario, Canada, a daughter of William Cabourn and Bertha Victoria Kingston Smith, she was a high school graduate and attended Watertown School of Commerce.

Her family came to the United States with a sleigh and horse, crossing the ice of the St. Lawrence River in 1924 to Theresa, NY. Then she moved to Black River in 1944, returned to Theresa in 1972, and has resided in Philadelphia since 1984 to present date.

In 1932 she married Walter Sherman Tilley and he died in April 1963. Then she married Donald Huddleston in February 1970 and he died in July of 1974.

For many years Marion was a retail clerk at Empsall’s Department Store, Watertown, NY.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty and George Eassa, Calcium, NY and Suzanne and Darwin Queary, Spring Hill, FL; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, William Frederick Smith and E. Gordon Smith, two sisters, Lois Cook and Dorothy Cooke, and a step-brother, Bill Smith.

At 104 years, she touched many peoples lives in the north country and will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY, with Rev. Toby Shilling officiating. Spring burial will be in Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium, NY.

Calling hours will be noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
