Melva A. Perrigo, 62, Redwood

REDWOOD, NY — The funeral for Melva A. Perrigo will be Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown, with Pastor Jeff Smith from the First Baptist Church officiating. Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ms. Perrigo, 62, Redwood, died Sunday, Nov. 24, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary A. Collins, Watertown and Jeremiah C. (Brandy) Collins, Redwood; a daughter Lula M. Collins-McCarrell, Albion, NY; 8 grandchildren; A brother Richard Perrigo, Theresa; two sisters, Arlene Martin, Watertown and Betty Ferguson, No. Carolina; many nieces and nephews.

A brother, David Perrigo, predeceased her.

She was born June 10, 1956, in Natural Bridge, a daughter to Paul and Dorothy Britton Perrigo.

Melva enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.

She was called “Auntie” by all who knew her.
