Meth lab bust in Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — On 02/05/19, at about 11:00 p.m., members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force responded to 140 Polk Street in the City of Watertown to
assist the Watertown Police Department with a methamphetamine lab
investigation.

A search warrant was obtained for, and executed at, 140 Polk St., apartment 3, in the City of Watertown. At the conclusion of the search warrant approximately 14 ounces of a liquid containing methamphetamine, components and materials used to manufacture methamphetamine, and several items of drug paraphernalia were
seized, police said.

As a result, Robert D. Dusharm Jr. (age 54) and Steven E. Hamm (age 46) were each charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2 nd degree (class A-II felony) and one count of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3 rd degree (class D felony).

Mr. Dusharm and Mr. Hamm were arraigned in the City of Watertown Court by the Honorable Judge Renzi and were each held without bail.

The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force was assisted by the Watertown Police Road Patrol, K-9 and ID Units, NYSP CCSERT, and the Watertown City Fire Department.

This is an on-going investigation.

Additional charges and arrests are pending.
