Neil R. Pierce, 78, formerly of Carthage

CARTHAGE, NY — Neil R. Pierce, 78, formerly of 731 State St., Carthage, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility in Lowville where he has resided for two years.

Born Feb. 19, 1940, in Sterlingville, the son of the late Milton and Anna (Crump) Pierce, he was a graduate of Carthage High School.

He married the former Dolores R. Peluso on July 30, 1960, in Lowville. Dolores passed away March 17, 2010.

Neil had a very extensive career in the paper industry. Many of those years were with the St. Regis Paper Company and later with companies throughout the northeast and Texas. He retired as the product manager for Champion International in Sheldon, Texas.

His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at the nursing home that provided such wonderful care during his stay there.

He is survived by one daughter: Tori Pierce (Heidi) of Rochester, four sons: Gregory (Wendy) Pierce of Leesburg, VA, Paul (Debi) Pierce of West Carthage, Mark Pierce of Dallas, Texas and Neil Pierce of Rochester, 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, two sisters: Gail Hall of Phillippi, WV and Lois Petrie of West Carthage, one brother: Reid Pierce of Deferiet and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately by the family.
