Endorsement Was “Clear Choice” Based On Candidates’ Records on Workers’ Issues
WATERTOWN, N.Y.,
Jan. 22 —
Darrel Aubertine received the strong endorsement of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local Union No. 2 today in his bid for the 48th State Senate seat. The 1600 member union is the latest to give their endorsement to Aubertine based on his strong legislative record on behalf of working people and their families.
“As someone who’s worked hard and gotten his hands dirty, Darrel Aubertine knows firsthand the issues facing our workers and their families. So we believe that he is clearly the best candidate,” said Bob Mantello, Local No.2 President. “We have no doubt that in the State Senate, Darrel will continue to work to make certain our members and their families are paid fair wages, can get affordable healthcare and a quality education for our kids. We need more leaders like Darrel—he puts the interests of his constituents above all else.”
“I am honored to have received the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers’ endorsement, and to know that they trust me as a voice for the working people of Central New York and the North Country,” stated Aubertine. “My focus is now and has always been on the issues that all of us deal with every day – good jobs, affordable healthcare and sound public education for our kids.”
The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers represent many skilled members of the construction trades, including brick, stone and marble masons, cement masons, plasterers, tilesetters, and terrazzo and mosaic workers, among others.
Today’s endorsement follows endorsements by all of the Teamsters Locals in the 48th, including Local 1149, Local 687, Local 182 and Local 317.

“There are a number of reasons that Darrel Aubertine is our candidate for the 48th State Senate seat, not the least of which is his record on issues of health, wellness, and safety issues for New York’s laborers,” explained Rich Daddario, President of Local 322. “Deep down, we know that Darrel truly understands the issues facing our families. Our workers take very seriously our commitment to building New York’s communities, and the best person to help us build our community is Darrel Aubertine.”

“I am honored to have the support of Local 322 because the work these men and women put in every day can literally be seen all across the 48th District,” stated Aubertine. “They go to work every day and put in an honest days work, and like all of the hard-working people across Central New York and the North Country, they deserve someone representing them in Albany who will work just as hard on their behalf. I am proud they recognize me as the candidate who will do that.”
The Laborers endorsement follows recent endorsements Aubertine by the Teamsters Locals in the 48th District, the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No.2
