Chipotle Mexican Grill Expected to Open this Summer in Watertown

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  An Alexandria Bay developer says an international restaurant chain famous for its burritos and Mexican-themed menu items is closer to opening its doors in a city plaza.

Developer Patrick M. Donegan says he is finishing talks to bring the popular, assembly line-style restaurant to the neighboring storefront of Five Guys Burgers & Fries at City Center Plaza, 1222 Arsenal St. 

“The Chipotle deal is all taken care of,” he told Newzjunky.com Saturday morning. “It's all set. They will be utilizing just under 2,300-square-feet.”

Mr. Donegan says the Denver, Colo.-based corporation, instead of franchisees, leases each of its U.S. locations. 

Chipotle has over 50 locations throughout the state, according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
