Pyramid Announces Plan for 12 New Theaters at Salmon Run Mall

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Salmon Run Mall and Pyramid Management Group, Inc., are excited to announce plans for an all new 50,000sf, 12-screen stadium-seat theater complex with Regal Cinemas. 

The new 2,000 seat theater complex will be the first phase of Salmon Run Mall’s expansion plan originally approved in May 2008. 

As one of the most requested attractions for the North Country market area, Regal’s new complex will house twelve stadium-seat theaters equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection and surround sound systems. Each theater will offer Watertown and the surrounding area an outstanding cinema experience where each movie-goer will enjoy a crystal clear view of the screen, along with plush, comfortable, high backed recliner seats, an all new lobby area and a computerized box office to make ticketing quick and simple. 

The complex will be built at the current site of the existing Regal Cinema location and will also include an all new food court entrance to the Salmon Run Mall. 

Salmon Run Mall submitted their modified site plan to the Town of Watertown Planning Board this past July for review and a phased site plan approval. Once approved, Phase 1 construction of the new Regal Theater Complex will begin this fall with an opening planned for May 2009. 

Phase 2 of the Salmon Run Mall expansion plan includes 20,000 square-feet of previously approved retail space; a 7,500sf free-standing restaurant and approximately 10,000sf of adjacent retail development on the southwest parcel situated between the new mall entrance off Route 3/Arsenal Street and the Red Lobster restaurant; an 8,600sf free-standing retail space on the southeast parcel and 41,000sf retail space at the location of the previously approved expansion from May 2008. 

The proposed construction schedule for Phase 2 and the balance of the Salmon Run Mall expansion project is anticipated to take place in the 2009/2010 season.
