NYSP: Man, woman flown to Syracuse hospital after motorcycle crash in Pamelia

PAMELIA, NY — State Police in Watertown are investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred on County Route 16 in the town of Pamelia, Jefferson County.

On Aug. 24, 2018, at approximately 12:27 a.m., Sergeant Jason West was westbound on County Route 16 in the town of Pamelia when he drove upon the crash scene.

Investigation revealed a 2017 Harley Davidson was traveling westbound on CR-16 when it failed to negotiate a curve, and exited the roadway, striking a guide wire, a utility pole, and coming to rest in a ditch.

The operator, Wesley R. Sikes, 27 , Watertown, NY, was ejected from the motorcycle, troopers said.  He was transported by Life Net Helicopter to SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with internal injuries.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Christina Sikes, 29, was also ejected, troopers said. Mrs. Sikes was also transported by Life Net Helicopter to SUNY Upstate University Hospital with internal injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
