WATERTOWN, NY — On March 2, 2019, at 3:30 p.m., State Police responded to 18910 County Route 3 in the town of Orleans for a reported Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) accident.
When patrols arrived at the scene, they observed a woman pinned underneath a Kubota UTV between a garage and the residence. Troopers pushed the Kubota off of the woman who was unconscious and not breathing. Â A paramedic from TIERS arrived on scene and pronounced the female victim deceased.
The investigation has revealed, 73-year-old, Sylvia R. Carter from Clayton, NY was unloading a pressure washer from the bed of the UTV when the UTV rolled back and pinned Mrs. Carter underneath.
She was transported to Samaritan Medical Center where a post mortem examination will be performed on Monday, March 4, to determine an official cause of death.
The investigation is continuing.
