LAFARGEVILLE, N.Y.  —  Dixie E. Robinson, 72, of Berry Blvd., died Dec. 31, 2011, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice.

Born Sept. 2, 1939, in Theresa, the daughter of Clarence and Mable Charles Baker, she was educated in Alexandria Bay schools.  

Dixie married Melford Robinson on Oct. 4, 1958, in Theresa.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Melford; her sons, Joseph (Jessica)Robinson, Stone Mills, David Robinson, LaFargeville, and Isac (Kate)Robinson, Chesterfield, Va.; her daughters, Laura (Dennis) Parow, Theresa, Candy (Steven) Ackert, Toana, Va., Elaine (Steven) McConnell, Theresa, Tina (Gary)Schall, Petersburg, Va., and Michelle Burrows, South Chesterfield, Va.; a sister, Margaret Thomas, Oswegachie; four brothers, Alvin Baker, Brownville, Claude Baker, Alexandria Bay, Foster Baker, Mexico, and Edgar Baker, Theresa, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  

She was predeceased by eight children, who died as infants, and two brothers, Henry and Wilford Baker.

Calling hours will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Costello Funeral Home in Alexandria Bay.  The funeral service will follow calling hours at 3:00 p.m. at Costello Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Constantino officiating.
