Helen
Chatterton, 88, of S. Real Street, died Monday, Jan. 2, at
Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, where she had been a
resident for about a month.
She was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Sand Bay, the daughter of
William and Edna Percy Lennox.
She married Glenn S. Chatterton on Feb. 16, 1942, in Cape
Vincent. He passed away in 1997.
Mrs. Chatterton was a long time cook for the Cape Vincent
Inn. She was also a 62 year member of the Cape Vincent
American Legion Post 832 Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Kirk and Donna Chatterton,
LaFargeville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and Jim
Constance, and Gail Stevenson, all of Cape Vincent; a
sister, Ella Parkhearst, Michigan; six grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert Lennox, a sister, Cornelia Kilbourne, and
a great-grandson, Ryan Bidwell, all died before her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the
convenience of the family.
