BLACK RIVER, N.Y. — LeRoy C. Mosher, 74, of 29777
Route 3, passed Wednesday, Jan. 4, at his home where he was under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Arrangements
are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.
The family will have receive friends at the N. Side Improvement League from
noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13.
Burial will be in Bangor, Maine, in the spring.
Born April 9, 1937, in Bangor, Maine, son of Howard and Winona White Mosher, he graduated and attended three years of college in Massachusetts.
He entered the National Guard on Oct. 1, 1961, and then went in the Army Reserves up until he retired and was honorably discharged
Aug. 20, 1982 as Lieutenant Colonel.
He received the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal First Class, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Vietnam Service Medal.
Following his discharge, he became a civilian employee at Fort Drum up until he retired from the Headquarters Building.
He enjoyed reading and loved old vintage cars.
He was a member and volunteer at the North Side Improvement League and a volunteer at the Sally Ploof Hunter Memorial Library in Black River.
He married Cathy Mosher of Bangor, Maine. Tthe marriage ended in divorce. He then married Ruth Aucter of Black River on
Oct. 14, 1988, at the Fort Drum Chapel. Ms. Aucter retired as a civilian employee from Fort Drum.
Among his survivors are his wife, Ruth Aucter, Black River;
a son and his wife, David and Amanda Mosher, Bangor, Maine; a daughter, Saabrina Mosher, Bangor, Maine; stepdaughter, Kimberly Aucter, Black River; step mother, Ann Mosher, West Port,
Mass.; stepsister, Debbie Russo, Mass.; two stepbrothers and their wives, Hank and Susan Seaman, Dartmouth, Mass.,
and Wayne and Barbara Seaman, N.H.; several nieces and nephews.
A brother in law, Andy Russo, died before him.
