— Terry
N. Elmore, 34, of 5609 Lewisburg Road, died Sunday, Jan. 8,
in Watertown.
Born Feb. 21, 1977, in Elkhart, Ind., the son of the late
Marlin L. and Ruth A. Hoffman Elmore, he attended schools in
Indiana where he excelled in wresting and later at Carthage
Central where he participated in football, swimming and
track and field. He attended JCC and was on the soccer
team.
While living in Indiana he worked maintenance in a senior
citizen building and was a self-employed carpenter. Terry
returned to Carthage and worked construction on several
projects on Fort Drum, including the airport and at Ithaca
College.
Surviving are a son, Nazareth N. Elmore, Carthage; his
mother and step-father, Ruth and Deward Barrier, Natural
Bridge; a sister, Tanya Overton, Carthage; two brothers,
Robert Elmore, Hamilton, Ohio, and Jason Overton, Castorland;
a step sister, Lana Barrier of Nashville, Tenn.; his
maternal grandfather, Charles Hoffman Sr., Carthage; a
step-grandmother, Euin Barrier, Harrisburg, Ark.; and
several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at
Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Roggie
officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the
funeral home.
