WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Harold James "Jim" Henry, 65, of Eacho Drive, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 8, at his home. 

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy officiating.

Born Dec. 22, 1946, in Watertown, son of Harold J. and Margaret Flynn Henry, he graduated in 1965 from Watertown High School and from the Fashion Institute of Technology and School of Window Design, NYC. 

He married Joanne Carol Lemecke on March 27, 1971. The marriage ended in divorce.

He was a visual designer for Sears & Roebuck in Buffalo, Rochester, and Boston, working for the company until 1995. He then worked for Simon Malls, Boston, until 2001. He volunteered for WGBH, Cambridge, for the Boston Horticultural Show and for Boys and Girls Club of Charlestown. He returned to Watertown in 2002 and was working at Michael's. 

He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. 

He volunteered for Festival of Trees and cardiac rehab. Jim also enjoyed freelance decorating, especially for the Sisters of St. Joseph, Our Lady of the Sacred heart Church, and Sacred Heart Paint Club.

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Melissa J. and Eric R. Saffran, Rochester; his grandson, Daniel Finley; his seven brothers and sisters, Mary M. Henry, Watertown, Michael A. and Ruth Henry, Clay, Patrick J. and Mickey Henry, Watertown, Virginia A. and Richard Mecomonaco, Liverpool, Joseph B. Henry, Oswego, Nancy C. Henry and Colleen M. Henegan, Watertown, and Anita L. Henry, Watertown; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

His parents predeceased him.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in his name to either Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 320 W. Lynde St., or to Sisters of St. Joseph, 1425 Washington St., both in Watertown, NY 13601, or at amputee-coalition.gov.
