Leitha C. Hardy

PHILADELPHIA, N.Y.  —  Leitha C. Hardy, 84, of Childs Road, died Thursday, Jan. 12, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. 

Born Jan. 4, 1928, in Moira, N.Y., she was one of ten children of Leo and Valita Lucas Russell.  She attended school in Moira. 

She married Wayne H. Hardy on Aug. 30, 1947, in Kansas. Mr. Hardy died June 21, 1982. 

Mrs. Hardy retired from both Cheesboro Ponds, Watertown, and Quaker Village Diner, Philadelphia. 

She was a member of the Philadelphia Grange and a communicant of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church. 

Mrs. Hardy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, baking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Survivors include a son and his wife, Russell and Dawn, Philadelphia; three daughters and their husbands, Holly and Herbert Schulmerich, Fort Myers, Fla., Tracy and Bill Johnston, Fabius and Toni and David Bonville, Philadelphia; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be noon Monday, Jan. 16, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa, with Pastor David Snyder officiating. Burial will be at Sandy Hollow Cemetery, Philadelphia, in the spring. 

Calling hours are 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral.
