Donald B. Gillette

DEPAUVILLE, N.Y.  ó  Donald Buford Gillette, 83, of Sylvia Street, died at his home on Tuesday morning. 

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at T.R Jetty Funeral Home, Clayton, with Rev. Donald Briant, pastor, Depauville Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Felts Mills Cemetery.

Born April 9, 1927, on the family farm to Perl and Cecile Gillette, he graduated in 1944 from Clayton High School as salutatorian. 

He married Marjorie Bierman on Oct. 27, 1955, in Brownville. Marjorie died in April 1995. 

Having farmed all his life he retired in 1978. 

He enjoyed spending time with his cousin Donald Radley, both at Donís farm and car trips throughout the area. 

Surviving are a son and his wife, Kevin and Karen Gillette, Depauville; a daughter, Korleen Gillette, Watertown; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

Three siblings, Richard, Mary and Eleanor, all died before him.
