HERRINGS, N.Y.  —  Cathy L. Gill Fayette, 49, of 35802 State Route 3, was pronounced dead at home on Monday, Jan. 23. 

She was born April 27, 1962, in Canandaigua, the daughter of Louis and Linda Schermerhorn Gill. 

She graduated from Carthage High School and also graduated from Jefferson Community College with a certificate. 

She loved the outdoors and camping.

Surviving are a son, Walter “Wally” Fayette, and his wife, Holly, Carthage; six grandchildren, Robert, Courtney, Tanner, DeWalt, Sawyer, and Elizabeth; and three sisters, Brenda Morris, Watertown, Judy Strough, Pennsylvania, and Jodi VanRiper, Horseheads.

Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Natural Bridge.
