Joan T. Kearney

WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Joan T. Kearney, 82, of LeRay Street, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 23, at Samaritan Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Richard Kennedy officiating. A memorial lunch will be served at the apartment complex at 847 Leray St. after the service. 

Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.

Born March 13, 1929, in Watertown, the daughter of John E. and Donna Murphy Leuze, she attended local schools. 

She was a long-time thermometer maker for Faichney's in Watertown. 

Mrs. Kearney attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. 

She was an avid reader, loved animals, especially owls and cats. She was very kind hearted and was known for her wit and telling it like it was.

Surviving are her brother and his wife, John George and Margaret Leuze, Summerfield, Fla.; and her two nieces, Pamela Roux, Baldwinsville and Deborah Johnson, Webster. 

Her husband, Donald Kearney, predeceased her.
