Mary E. Secor, 69, Route 11, Rutland Estates,  passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Samaritan Medical Center.  

Born May 7, 1942, a daughter to EllaMae Barnett, she was educated in local schools.  

A marriage to Richard D. Secor, Sr. ended in divorce. 

At age 62, Mary retired from the Eagles Club where she worked as the bar manager for several years. She was an auxiliary member of the American Legion & the VFW, as well as a member of the Eagles Club.  

She will be remembered as a very good cook, and as having a special way of making people laugh.

Surviving are her long-time companion, Chuck Locke, Watertown; a daughter, Jean Tabolt, Watertown; a son, Richard D. Secor Jr., Evans Mills; two sisters, Lois Laforty and Eva Marino, both of Watertown; a brother, Lyman Barnett, Fonda, N.Y.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A sister, Sandra Brothers, and three brothers,  Edgar, James, and Robert Barnett, all died before her.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. There are no calling hours. Sprig burial will take place in North Watertown Cemetery.

There will be a luncheon at the Eagles Club following the memorial service. All are invited to attend.
