BEAVER FALLS,
N.Y. — A memorial service for James F. Manzer,
70, 8657 Artz Rd., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,
Feb. 9, at
the Beaver Falls United Methodist Church with the Rev. Linda
J. Harris, pastor and the Rev. Bruce Chapman, retired
Methodist minister officiating. Spring burial will be in the
Riverside Cemetery Annex, Beaver Falls. There will be no
calling hours.
A graveside service will
be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Riverside Cemetery
Annex, Beaver Falls.
Arrangements are with the Adirondack Funeral Home, Croghan.
Mr. Manzer died at his home Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 6, while under
the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

Born May 29, 1937, in Lowville, son of Floyd and Irene
Manzer, he graduated from Lowville Academy.
He worked for various car dealerships in Lowville including
the Ford garage, Buick garage, and the Dodge garage. He
worked for Beaverite Products from 1964 to 1969.
In 1969, he started his own business, Manzer’s Garage in
Croghan which he ran until he became ill.
He married Joan Misercola at the Beaver Falls United
Methodist Church on July 30, 1994. A previous marriage ended
in divorce.
Mr. Manzer served as a Town of New Bremen councilman for 30
years. He was an active member of Beaver Falls United
Methodist Church. He was a life member of Lowville Elks
Lodge 1605. He was also a member of Beaver Falls Fire Dept.,
the Polish American Polka Club, Lowville; the Bernie Campany
Memorial Bowling League and the Brantingham Golf Club.
He was a flagger at the Adirondack International Speedway,
and was active in the Lewis County Opportunities Christmas
Sharing program for over 25 years.
Mr. Manzer enjoyed woodworking, going to the casino, NASCAR,
NY Yankee baseball, fishing, golfing, bowling, Polka and
Square Dancing and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Beaver Falls; his mother,
Lowville; three daughters and sons in law, Cheryl and Joel
Schuyler Star Lake; Brenda and Michael Burdeaux, Aurora CO;
and Karen and Gary Galasso, Castorland; a son, Randy,
Castorland; and a step daughter Lisa McCargar, Dexter. He is
also survived by two sister and brothers in law, Ruth and
Steve Zubrzycki, Lowville; Sally and Allyn Roseboom, Stokes;
two brothers and sisters in law Mark and Jane Manzer,
Pittsburgh, PA; and Paul and Janet Manzer, Salem, N.H.; nine
grandchildren, a step grandchild, two great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his
father in 1979, and a sister Shirley in infancy.
