BEAVER FALLS, N.Y. —
Elberta Marolf, 77, of Beaver Falls, passed
away Monday morning, Feb. 6, at Lewis County General
Hospital where she had been a patient since Saturday.
A funeral Mass will be said 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at
St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan, with Rev. Daniel
L. Chapin, Pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in St.
Stephen’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 1 to 3 and 6 ti
8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc.,
Lowville.
Born May 5, 1934, in Carthage, a daughter of the late Frank
and Alexandria Desbrais Trembley, she attended Augustinian
Academy.
She married William D. Marolf on July 3, 1954, in Carthage.
They resided in Beaver Falls.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as
playing with her great-grandchildren. Elberta also
enjoyed going to the casinos, rummage sales and shopping.
She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan.
In her younger years, she worked on Fort Drum, W.T. Grants
in Carthage, and Beaverite in Beaver Falls.
She is survived her husband of 57 years, William; by a
son, James and Diana Marolf of Beaver Falls, and a
daughter, Jane and Stephen Monnat of Croghan.
They have five grandchildren, Mrs. Eric (Elizabeth) Smith of
Beaver Falls, James Marolf Jr. of Harrisville, Mrs. Andrew
(Kelly) Juby of Deer River, Michele Monnat of Croghan, and
Patrick Monnat of Croghan; six great-grandchildren, Morgan
Stevens, Corey Stevens, Elijah Smith, Alexandria Marolf,
Maddison Juby, and Cassie Juby. She is also survived by a
sister, Ruth Sweeney of Lowville; and many nieces and
nephews. She was preceded by her parents, Frank
and Alexandria Trembley, her two brothers, Norman Trembley
and Leo Trembley, as well as by a sister, Dorothy Kilmer,
and a son William Marolf Jr.
