Shirley A. Rick

PLESSIS, N.Y.  —  Shirley A. Rick, 76, of Route 26, LaFargeville, went into the arms of the Lord after losing her courageous battle. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sept. 18, 1935, in Cortland, the daughter of Gerald and Edna Gates, she graduated from North Senior High School in Binghamton.

Shirley married Paul W. Rick on March 7, 1955.  

She was a custodian at Chenango Forks Central School.

Shirley was a long-standing member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Lisle, N.Y., as well as the Red Hat Society.  

She had far too many dear friends to name, but she did request that we send a special goodbye and God bless to each one of them.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Pam Rick, Alexandria Bay; grandchildren, Amanda Rick and Marvin Warren, Endicott, NY, Jacki and Jeremy Buckland, Alexandria Bay, Chris Rick, and Kari Rick Ignatovich, Pa.; a special niece, Barb Rick Patterson, Binghamton; her two precious great-grandchildren, Ashaya Rose and Gage Buckland; and her brother and sister-in-law Howard and Peggy Gates, Binghamton, NY.  

Her husband, Paul, and a son, Clinton H. Rick, both died before her.

A Celebration of Life picnic will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Scenic View Park Pavilion on the waterfront in Alexandria Bay.
