— Jack
Murdie Lester, 62, El Paso, Texas, and formerly of Felts
Mills, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 10.
Born July 16, 1949, in Watertown, a son of Bobby and Shirley
Murdie Lester, he attended and graduated in 1968 from
Carthage Central School. While growing up he played and
coached little league, was very active in scouting and high
school sports.
Jack was an avid race car fan who also enjoyed football and
baseball. He raced at Evans Mills Speedway for several
seasons.
He was a member of the Felts Mills American Legion and of
the Felts Mills Church of Christ.
After graduation, Jack worked for the House of the Good
Samaritan prior to joining the Army in 1975. After basic
training, he was stationed in Korea where he met and married
his beloved wife Unju of 36 years. They were stationed in
Germany for some time and returned to Fort Bliss TX. Upon
completion of his military service he began working for the
U.S. Postal Service. He retired from the Postal Service, and
he and his wife bought and currently operate GI Supply
outside Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.
Surviving are his loving wife, Chun Cha (lovingly referred
to as Unju); two sons, Clayton who is teaching in Korea and
Tommy who is currently serving in Korea with the Air Force;
daughter-in-law, Hyun; a grandson, Constantine, El Paso
Texas; four siblings and an aunt who he loved as a sister; a
brother, Robin, and wife Debbie, LaFargeville; a sister,
Chris (Aguilar) of Lebanon, Mo.; a brother, Randy, and wife,
Amber, Brentwood, Tenn.; a sister, Susan, Melbourne, Fla.,
and Patricia (Wilson) McFadden and husband, Patrick,
Clayton.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bobby and Shirley Lester,
grandparents, Wilbur and Bertha Wilson, and several aunts, uncles
and cousins.
A funeral service was held
Feb. 16 at the Sunset Funeral Home in El Paso, Texas.
Arrangements for a future memorial service to be held at the
Felts Mills Church of Christ will be made at a later date.
Although he now resides with
the Lord, Jack will always live forever in our hearts as our
loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and
Cousin and Friend.
