LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Walter M.
“Walt” Morse, 84, formerly of Bostwick Street, died
Tuesday, Feb. 21, at his home under the care of his wife Ann
and hospice in Fairhope, Ala.
Born Feb. 3, 1928, in Lowville, the son of the late Earl
John and Kathryn Rector Morse, he attended Lowville Free
Academy.
Walt was a veteran of World War II and joined the Navy at
the age of sixteen. He received his honorary high school
diploma from Lowville Free Academy for his military service.
He married E. Ann Hotchkiss on Dec. 12, 1954, at St.
Peter’s Catholic Church.
He was an installer and repairman for Lowville Telephone and
retired from Contel after forty years of service.
Walt was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and
was a past commander and life member of the Lowville
American Legion #162.
He was also involved with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed
hunting.
Surviving Mr. Morse are his wife, Ann of Fairhope; two sons
and their wives: Walter M. “Walt” and Kathy Morse Jr.,
Lowville, and David W. and Jill Morse, Dallas, Texas; a
brother, Earl G. Morse, Lowville; four grandchildren,
Ashley, Paige, Ryan and Morgan; a great-granddaughter, Reeonna and
several nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Charmaine Morse Fritsche, a son, Gary Morse, and
infant brother and sister, all died before him.
A military graveside service will be held in the spring in
Lowville Rural Cemetery.
