LOWVILLE, N.Y. —
Elizabeth “June” Williams, 85, died Wednesday evening,
March 2, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susan
and Roger Chapman, Number Four Road, under the loving care
of her family and Lewis County Hospice.
A funeral service will be
held noon Tuesday, March 8, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc.,
with Rev. Evan Zehr, officiating. Spring burial will be in
Beaches Bridge Cemetery. Calling hours are 10 a.m. to noon
prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
She was born April 24,
1925, in Watertown, a daughter of the late Walter and Grace
C. Cummings Lane.
She married Stanley E. Williams on May 17, 1943, at Sandy
Creek Methodist Church with Rev. Herbert Harrison
officiating. Mr. Williams died Sept. 15, 2004.
Mrs. Williams worked making bomb sights in Rochester, NY,
during WWII. She worked for Gibson’s Drycleaners in
Watertown for a time.
She raised her family and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening,
fishing, crocheting, reading, and was an active housekeeper.
She also enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her
children, three sons, Dale E. , Wayne C., and William A.
Williams, all of Lowville, seven daughters, Lorraine D.
Smith, Watertown, Marlene and Carl Spencer, Lowville,
Rosemary and Dennis Sweredoski, Binghamton, Susan and Roger
Chapman of Lowville, Barbara and Howard Cory, Lowville,
Sandra Williams, Rome, Nancy J. Raymond, Watertown; 24
grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and a great-great
granddaughter.
Four sons, Stanley Jr., James, Patrick, and Kenneth; and two
sisters, Frances Moore and Lorretta Hatz, all died before
her.
