Sheila I. Snyder

CLAYTON, N.Y.  — 
Sheila I. Snyder, 57, Strawberry Lane, died Tuesday morning, March 4, at her home. She had been ill with COPD.

Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at 1st Baptist Church of the 1000 Islands with Rev. Dr. D. James Lewis, pastor of the 1st Baptist Church of the 1000 Islands, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Evans Mills Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her name to TPACC of Jefferson and Lewis Counties, Relay for Life, 200 Washington St., Suite 404A, Watertown, N.Y. 13601.

Born Feb. 19, 1951, in Alexandria Bay, a daughter of Gerald A. and Irene M. Bishop Snyder, she attended Evans Mills and Indian River schools, and Bryant & Stratton Business School, Watertown.

Marriages to Gary A. Hibbard, Sr. and Joseph P. Bond ended in divorce.

She had worked as an insurance agent for the McAvoy Insurance Agency in Watertown for 10 years. She was later a bookkeeper for Black River Paper-Blue Diamond Hardware, Watertown.

Ms. Snyder had lived in Watertown, Chaumont, Pillar Point, then Clayton. 

She was an avid collector of goofy memorabilia, and enjoyed traveling, Washington Redskins football, and visiting her grandchildren.

Surviving are her mother, Irene M. Snyder, Pamelia; a daughter and her companion, Amy S. Lashomb and Augustus M. Potter, Sr., Clayton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary A. Hibbard, Jr., and Derek J. and Julie Bond, all of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Cheryl S. and Richard N. Shaw, Pamelia; and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
