N.Y. — Kenneth
R. Brown Sr., 79, of State Route 68, formerly of 1000 Scotch
Bush Road, died Tuesday at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center,
Ogdensburg.
Born July 12, 1930, in South Hammond, the son
of Francis A. and Hazel V. Snell Brown, he attended
Morristown High School.
Mr. Brown served aboard the USS Des Moines CA
134 in the Navy from July 15, 1948, to March 2, 1950, and
was honorably discharged. He was awarded the US Navy
Occupation Medal
Mr. Brown was a well driller for over 50
years and owned and operated Ken Brown’s Well Drilling,
Ogdensburg.
He was a Life Member of VFW, Member of
Watertown Elks Lodge, Member of Loyal Order of the Moose,
Tallahassee, Fla., was awarded numerous well drilling awards
and certificates.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving besides his
wife, Janice J. Wood Brown.of 52 years, are three sons,
Kenneth R. Brown, Jr. and Roderick F. Brown, both of
Morristown, and Rory W. Brown, Jupiter Florida; a daughter,
Gina L. Brown Chambers, Watertown, NY; a step Son Kevin J.
Wood of Harrisville; a
sister, Audrey Brown DeLair, Tallahassee, Fla.; a step brother
Alan Brown, Lewisburg, N.C.; three step Sisters, Sherri
Brown Cole, Oswego, Lori Brown Hickey, Natural Bridge, Kelli
Leroux, Pinellas Park, Fla. ; his step mother, Ruth Brown,
Natural Bridge; and nine grandchildren.
A brother, Ronald Brown, died before him.

p.m. Friday, March 19, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home,
Inc., Theresa.
Burial at Gates Cemetery,
South Edwards will be private.
