Scott E. McKee

GLENFIELD, N.Y.  —  Scott E. McKee, 41, died at his home on Oliver Place on Thursday, March 20.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Martinsburg Cemetery with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired minister, officiating. Arrangements are with the Sundquist Funeral Home

Born June 3, 1966, in Lowville, a son of Lansing Emory McKee Jr. and Carolyn O’Hara McKee, he was a 1985 graduate of South Lewis Central School. 

A marriage ended in divorce. 

While living in Orlando, Fla., Scott helped with the construction of rides at Disney World for the Buena Vista Construction Company. 

Upon his relocating back to the Lowville area, he was employed at Kraft Manufacturing and most recently worked construction with Larry Widrick.

As an avid outdoorsman, Mr. McKee enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, geocaching, camping and wildlife. He was a Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan on the NASCAR circuit, and loved following the Buffalo Bills football team. 

He especially loved his chow dogs, Sammy, Nala, Sarabi, Nakoma and his cat, Bagheera. He was also very proud of his Scottish heritage.

Surviving are his mother, Carolyn McKee, Glenfield; a daughter, Miranda Lynn McKee, Glenfield, and a son, Lansing Scott McKee, Ocoee, Fla.; a brother, Lansing E. McKee III, Boonville; an aunt, two uncles, a nephew, Lansing McKee IV, and a niece, Madison McKee.

His father died before him.

Family and friends are invited to call noon to 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 State Street, Lowville. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired minister, officiating. A spring burial will be in the Martinsburg Cemetery.
